    Emanuel's doors are open to anyone regardless of religious background or affiliation, race, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, ethnicity, language barriers, or economic status. We believe in cultivating a community of friendship and service in a Christian environment. We are called to be faithful Disciples of Christ in the world. We are saved by grace given to us through God's son, Jesus Christ. Our call is to be God's hands in the world. We are called to serve one another, the community, the extended church family, the unchurched, the nation and the world. We are especially called to serve the least among us.

  • The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) is one of the largest Christian denominations in the United States, with nearly 3.3 million members in more than 8,900 worshiping communities across the 50 states and in the Caribbean region.

    ‍We are what God has made us – people whom God has created by grace to live in union with Jesus Christ and has prepared to live faithful, fruitful lives by the power of the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 2:8-10). In Jesus Christ, God has reconciled us to God and to each other. As we gather around word and sacraments, this life in Christ is what defines, shapes and guides us as a community of faith, the church.

    By God’s grace we can and do live confidently and generously in this community of faith and in service of others, amid the mysteries and paradoxes of this life in Christ – including our human limitations and failings, and the ambiguities, uncertainties and suffering that we experience.

    Working at the intersection of oppressions, ReconcilingWorks embodies, inspires, advocates and organizes for the acceptance and full participation of people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions within the Lutheran communion and its ecumenical and global partners.

WORSHIP & Our Location

We have one weekly worship service on Sunday morning in the Sanctuary at 10 AM. 

The service offers a blend of traditional and contemporary music along with familiar Lutheran liturgy. 


Emanuel Lutheran Church is located at 60 Church Street in Manchester, Connecticut. 

We are AIR CONDITIONED and HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE. 

There are three parking lots available. The largest lot is to the right side of the church. This lot has handicap parking and is most accessible to our interior lift to gain access into the sanctuary. In addition to our lift, we have an accessible ramp that leads into our office spaces on the main level and the sanctuary. The second lot is located across the street from the property and the third, and smallest lot is located behind the Parish House, to the left of the church building. This is where you will find the most handicap parking spaces. Additional street parking is available.
